## Design premise

A text-based storyboard, written before any code: every scene is a decision with a consequence, not a slide. The plan below is the build contract — scene count, interaction logic, feedback placement and the debrief arc.

## Scene plan

| # | Scene | On screen | The learner decides | Right path | Tempting path | Consequence shown |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | **Pre-work reflection** | Recall of a feedback conversation that went sideways | identify what made it drift | names the moment intent got inferred | blames the other person's attitude | the reflection primes the room; wrong reads surface safely on paper |
| 2 | **Round 1: the delayed file** | Role-play brief: a report handed in late, third time | open the conversation | situation-behavior-impact in order | opens with 'why are you like this?' | observer rubric shows SBI order broken and impact inferred |
| 3 | **Round 2: the defensive reply** | Role-play partner pushes back mid-feedback | hold structure or defend | acknowledges, returns to behavior and commitment | argues the point | second-round rubric shows the conversation recovered or lost |
| 4 | **Commitment card** | Blank card: behavior, date, follow-up | commit to a real conversation | names a specific conversation within 5 days | leaves it vague ('soon') | the card is the transfer device; vague cards get re-drawn before leaving |

## Retry design

Round 2 is the retry: same structure, harder partner brief, recovery lines available on the run-sheet.

## Debrief plan

Observer rubric scores SBI-C behaviors per round; the debrief reads the two rounds side by side as evidence, not verdicts.
