Kit 15 · The Long Goodbye · deliverable · designed and built by I Wayan Usada — instructional design portfolio
A text-based storyboard, written before any code: every scene is a decision with a consequence, not a slide. The plan below is the build contract — scene count, interaction logic, feedback placement and the debrief arc.
| # | Scene | On screen | The learner decides | Right path | Tempting path | Consequence shown |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Waiting for the children | she waits at the door for children who grown decades ago | correct / deflect / join | join + exit: 'they must be late — tell me about them on the walk' | corrects: 'your children are grown' | anatomy panel: the correction was true and abandoned her; the join gives the feeling a destination |
| 2 | The accusation | she accuses a caregiver of stealing a purse that is hidden | argue / search / join | join: search together for the purse — the worry is the client | argues the facts | the joint search resolves the worry without a verdict |
| 3 | The old song | she sings a song from her working years, mid-task | redirect / join / ignore | join: finish the verse, then the task together | redirects to the task sheet | anatomy: the song was the connection; the task survived longer when it joined |
| 4 | The evening fog | she asks for her mother at sundown | lie / correct / join | join with an honest exit: window, tea, the evening walk | lies: 'she's coming tomorrow' | debrief names the debate: where validation ends and deception begins — honestly |
Moments replay from the ward door; each replay shows the anatomy of the chosen response: emotion, fact, exit.
Debrief scores the single lens — joined or abandoned — per moment, and names the therapeutic debate honestly.
