## Design premise

A text-based storyboard, written before any code: every scene is a decision with a consequence, not a slide. The plan below is the build contract — scene count, interaction logic, feedback placement and the debrief arc.

## Scene plan

| # | Scene | On screen | The learner decides | Right path | Tempting path | Consequence shown |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | **The fractions wall** | student stumbles on 1/2 vs 2/4 despite 'paying attention' | diagnose or task | diagnosis: equivalence misconception, not attention | adds a worksheet | cost panel: the worksheet practiced the error six more times |
| 2 | **The circuit that won't light** | group's circuit is fine; the bulb is not — but they blame themselves | diagnose or task | diagnosis question sequence that surfaces the broken bulb | re-teaches the whole unit | cost panel: the re-teach cost the group's confidence, not just time |
| 3 | **The quiet refusal** | student won't start; something happened at home | diagnose or task | diagnose: check in privately first | moves seat 'for a fresh start' | cost panel: the move publicly named the struggle it meant to fix |
| 4 | **The fast finisher** | done early, disrupting others | diagnose or task | diagnose: the task was below the ceiling — extend depth | adds more of the same | cost panel: more-of-the-same trained speed, not thinking |

## Retry design

Moments replay from the lesson start; every replay shows the barrier taxonomy position of the moment.

## Debrief plan

Debrief scores the diagnose-or-add-a-task lens across moments and names the habit: evidence first, task last.
