Kit 17 · Screen Nine · deliverable · designed and built by I Wayan Usada — instructional design portfolio
A text-based storyboard, written before any code: every scene is a decision with a consequence, not a slide. The plan below is the build contract — scene count, interaction logic, feedback placement and the debrief arc.
| # | Scene | On screen | The learner decides | Right path | Tempting path | Consequence shown |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | The refresher brief | video-heavy failure rule: max 1 video, must be decision-linked | allocate budget | one decision-linked video, rest interactive | three talking-head videos | verdict: DECORATES — the videos re-deliver the classroom, not the decision |
| 2 | The theory wall | scenario brief: scenario must come first | sequence scenes | scenario opens the module, theory pulled after | theory first, scenario buried | verdict shows the buried scenario's completion cliff |
| 3 | The hotspot habit | hotspot repetition failure rule: one hunt max | allocate budget | one hunt, tied to the job aid | three hotspot hunts | verdict: DECORATES — repetition is not rehearsal |
| 4 | The budget audit | final module vs brief rules | review spend | teaching scenes dominate the ledger | polish dominates | debrief names the conversion philosophy: effort follows the decision |
Placements revise live; verdicts re-fire on every change — the builder is the prototype loop.
Debrief reads the ledger against each brief's failure rule and names the philosophy: TEACHES or DECORATES.
