Text-based Storyboard — Gallery Hours

Kit 8 · Gallery Hours · deliverable · designed and built by I Wayan Usada — instructional design portfolio

Design premise

A text-based storyboard, written before any code: every scene is a decision with a consequence, not a slide. The plan below is the build contract — scene count, interaction logic, feedback placement and the debrief arc.

Scene plan

#SceneOn screenThe learner decidesRight pathTempting pathConsequence shown
1The runnervisitor on a schedule, wants the highlights fastthree movesjoin: a fast route with one stop that earns a return visitthe plausible: full history of stop onefeedback: joining served the visit; lecturing served the docent
2The deep divervisitor asks a technical pigment questionthree movesjoin the curiosity, admit the edge, offer the follow-up paththe tempting failure: improvised expertisefeedback: 'meet before manage' — the honest edge is a join
3The reluctant plus-onevisitor dragged along, arms crossedthree movesjoin their actual move: one hook, offered not imposedmanages them into engagementfeedback: managed visitors leave; joined visitors stay
4The kid with the wrong answerchild states a confidently wrong factthree movesjoin the thinking, extend it truthfullycorrect the fact coldfeedback: the correction closed the conversation; the join opened it

Retry design

Archetypes are re-dealt on retry; feedback always names the behavioral principle, never just the ranking.

Debrief plan

Debrief scores posture per interaction and contrasts the plausible and joining moves on the same moment.
