Kit 12 · The Mixed Classroom · deliverable · designed and built by I Wayan Usada — instructional design portfolio
Early-career teachers diagnose the barrier before intervening: choices scored as diagnose-or-add-a-task in >=75% of lesson moments.
Under pressure, teachers add tasks (worksheets, seating changes) instead of diagnosing the barrier — busy classrooms reward activity, not diagnosis.
| # | Behavior | What it looks like | Where the artifact trains it |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Name the barrier type before acting | barrier identified from the moment's evidence | moment forks |
| 2 | Choose the diagnostic move over the task move | every fork has a plausible task-distractor | three-move forks |
| 3 | Name what each choice cost each student | cost-naming feedback, student by student | moment feedback |
It will not teach behavior management systems — the unit is the diagnosis habit inside ordinary lesson moments.
Debrief scores the diagnose-or-add-a-task lens across moments and names the habit: evidence first, task last.
