Text-based Storyboard — The Mixed Classroom

Kit 12 · The Mixed Classroom · deliverable · designed and built by I Wayan Usada — instructional design portfolio

Design premise

A text-based storyboard, written before any code: every scene is a decision with a consequence, not a slide. The plan below is the build contract — scene count, interaction logic, feedback placement and the debrief arc.

Scene plan

#SceneOn screenThe learner decidesRight pathTempting pathConsequence shown
1The fractions wallstudent stumbles on 1/2 vs 2/4 despite 'paying attention'diagnose or taskdiagnosis: equivalence misconception, not attentionadds a worksheetcost panel: the worksheet practiced the error six more times
2The circuit that won't lightgroup's circuit is fine; the bulb is not — but they blame themselvesdiagnose or taskdiagnosis question sequence that surfaces the broken bulbre-teaches the whole unitcost panel: the re-teach cost the group's confidence, not just time
3The quiet refusalstudent won't start; something happened at homediagnose or taskdiagnose: check in privately firstmoves seat 'for a fresh start'cost panel: the move publicly named the struggle it meant to fix
4The fast finisherdone early, disrupting othersdiagnose or taskdiagnose: the task was below the ceiling — extend depthadds more of the samecost panel: more-of-the-same trained speed, not thinking

Retry design

Moments replay from the lesson start; every replay shows the barrier taxonomy position of the moment.

Debrief plan

Debrief scores the diagnose-or-add-a-task lens across moments and names the habit: evidence first, task last.
